#7 of 14 in Museums in Azerbaijan
Bake bread, weave, or forge iron the ancient way and explore a pre-historical dwelling at Qala Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum Complex. This open-air museum complex details Azeri history since the 3rd millennium BCE. Spanning 1.2 hectares (3 acres), the complex also has a large collection of petroglyphs, tambourine stones, ceramics, clothing items, weapons, and coins excavated in the area of the Absheron Peninsula. Central to the location is a well-preserved 10th-14th century stone fortress with a 13.8 m (45 ft) tall tower and restored traditional rooms featuring carpets and a sizable collection of silverware, tea-brewing equipment, and horse-drawn carriages. A sheep pen and many workshops provide hands-on experience of the past. The Centre itself is very beautiful all neat, but the weak part of this master-classes held by the very professional people and more oriented to children who are enrolled in primary school, I do not advise adults to take master classes. Also worth noting is the Museum exhibits which made of waste admission free it too it is necessary to visit very interesting.

Interesting ethnographic museum with a wide range of artifacts, objects, tools that illustrate the life of the people and of the country's past. but I did not appreciate the enclosures with the poor chickens, the poor rabbits and, especially, the poor camels shorn and smelly, immaculate order, complex clashed so much immersed in flowers

Where to stay in Baku

Baku's emphasis on architectural diversity--and its fondness for constructions that put all previous buildings to shame--has yielded a range of accommodations. Look no further than the waterfront high-rises for contemporary luxury, or take a peek at the more storied surrounding boulevards for 19th-century class, with grand hotels and stylish boutiques set in Baroque and neoclassical buildings. A smattering of budget-friendly hostels and guesthouses lies throughout the city, particularly on side streets close to the main attractions and train stations.
