Schmittenhohe, Zell am See

(4.5/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Take a cable car to the summit of Schmittenhohe on the eastern edge of the Alps for a sweeping view of the surrounding areas and lakes below. Ski and snowboard down the Funslope, including tunnels, waves, and steep curves, and ride back up to the summit on the cable car in cabins designed by the Porsche Design Studio. Race a friend down the Skimovie course where cameras will track your movements and measure precise time, using video analysis to determine who is the fastest and who has the best style. If you have little ones, be sure to check out the children's zone, which has child-themed pistes and chairlifts with closure mechanisms specifically designed to keep children safe. • Good ski area with plenty of runs for all abilities. Good lift system over the whole mountain. Plenty of places for food and drink and all of them are spotlessly clean and offer good value and quality...  more »
  • Clear slopes, well prepared and pleasant to drive. Red is rather blue, which can be a disadvantage for really demanding drivers - for us it was very relaxed and stress-free. Unfortunately lacks the central lift, the Schmitten is practically 3 different systems, this seems a bit confusing at first glance and the piste map is a constant companion.
