  • Going uphill using these wonderful steps is a great experience. The design is so amazingly Viennese Jugendstil that you cannot stop to take photos.
  • Typical Jugendstil outdoor staircase named after Peter Studel and designed by Johann Jaeger 1910. Also one of the locations in von Doderer's 1951 novel "The Strudlhof Steps or Melzer and the Depth of the Years".
  • it is a must see place
  • Received in the literature and consisting of three ramps Art Nouveau staircase from 1910 at a site level. The staircase is named after the Court and Chamber painter Peter strudel, who in 1690 built the Strudlhof with school of painting. The Strudlhofstiege has two mirror-image curved staircases and two layered fountain basin with gargoyles in the lower levels and ramp items at the top. A plaque next to the upper fountain contains the dedication of the staircase in Doderer's novel.
