Spread across 11 hectares (28 acres), the park is filled with flowers and plants that blossom throughout the year. Where to stay in Vienna

As a former imperial capital, Vienna is full of lavish hotels reminiscent of the city’s royal past. If you’re traveling on a budget, it’s not hard to find hotels for a more affordable price. Consider staying in the Innere Stadt, or First District, if you only have a short time in town, as you’ll be within easy walking distance to many of the city’s main tourist attractions. Outside of the central core, Leopoldstadt, or Second District, lines the Danube and offers peaceful walks through tree-lined paths. For shopaholics, Mariahilf, or Sixth District, is a central neighborhood with busy shopping streets and lively markets.

  • Lovely park with a lake, swans and ducks with lots of green for picnics and playgrounds. Strauss monument for cultural visits, Kursalon is next to the park. Biking and feeding of birds is prohibited. Close to the Ring and city centre, thus lots of opportunities for drinks and eating.
  • Exactly the kind of park you'd expect in Vienna. Ornamental but also friendly. And you can picnic on the lawns.
  • A busy public park with walking paths, pretty ponds, and a playground. It is a bit spooky later at night when crossing through the park to get to the train station.
  • Took a walk through the whole thing twice at the end of the day. It looks lovely and is a great spot to relax after a day of visiting!
  • Very central, good for a stroll while taking a walk along Vienna's inner ring
