#20 of 715 in Things to do in Vienna
Attend a film festival, a winter market, or a food festival at Rathausplatz. This town square between the town hall and theater, filled with monuments and statues of the city's former mayors, is a hub for social and cultural events. Easily accessible via public transportation, the square has a small grassy area with many benches and trees, and a well maintained children's play area. Events held on the square vary seasonally, so be sure to check out what's happening on their website during your visit. • A powerful building of interesting architecture. Also the place before that makes the House only to a large building. It is the most beautiful on the evening or night if it is beautifully lit.

  • One of the most charming places in Vienna! Even in winter or summer, there is always something to see! Best events for me: summer festival, Christmas village, ice skating event called Eistraum (ice dream) and the life ball! As well as next to many other important sights! Come, see and enjoy!
  • I really love this place, especially in the Christmas season. The market is beautiful, remember to buy hot wine with rhe mug! The ice skating area is very romantic. I recommend that you go there in the afternoon/evening. Lights are beautiful.
  • this place is the most fun place to go in Vienna specially during Christmas and new years. from November up till early January there is a Christmas Bazaar running there. which makes it a very fun place to go. there are variety of christmassy stuff and also local street food and drinks to try. make sure to try Punch. its their traditional drink in winter times its hot Rum mixed with several different spices of your choice. also each week until new year there is an event held in here. most are free to attend like concerts or live streaming of Ballet and etc. I spent my new years night here they had free live concert and countdown fireworks and many more. all public transportation vehicles work like a clock on that night to make sure to transport all that people. after new years eve, they made a HUGE ice skating field to enjoy. you could buy a ticket for the whole day and rent some skates and enjoy your day there. to sum it up this place is a must go when ever you visit Vienna as all fun events are held here.
  • Nice little park located between two iconic pieces of Vienna's architecture :). There is also always some event going on throughout the year: Christmas market, ice skating, Easter market, Vienna City Marathon, Summer film festival, .... Very touristy! ;)
  • Good place to hangout with family. Many tourist spots are nearby , walkable distance. Ice skating experience was good.
