  • Located in the historic centre of Vienna, Graben, you see the work impossible. 17. during the plague of the 21st century the Emperor Leopold I in fact have been dedicated as votive offerings and its aftermath. A lot of good in a long time by the sculptor. It is one of the most important symbols of the city.

  • This column was built in Baroque form of heavenly thanks for the end of the plague that devastated Europe, particularly Central Europe. We saw identical columns, with the same end in Bratislava, in Budapest (next to the fishermen's bastion and the Church Máthyas) and Prague (next to the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, below the Castle). Of the four we saw, I consider this the more sculptural artwork.

  • Beautiful statue next to the Cathedral of St. Stephen. Marble plague column (Pestzojle) on the street Graben appeared after the year 1679 epidemic. In Europe, the epidemic was one of the largest. The disease then won a third of the population in the Austrian capital Emperor Leopold and his family left the capital, promising people do everything for his deliverance, and to build a new capital, a stone column chumnuju if trouble abandon city. Construction began in the year 1683, was completed in 1693. During the erection of the monument's creators changed, changes were made to the project, but the monument has turned out beautiful and harmonious. One of my favorite Viennese Baroque designs. Recommend.
