Breathing fresh life into a jewel of art nouveau: a permanent exhibition documenting Otto Wagner is being presented in the Stadtbahn Pavilion on Karlsplatz.

He was a trailblazer of modernism and one of Vienna's most influential architects: Otto Wagner. Yet there has never been a permanent exhibition documenting the life and work of this versatile architect. This gap is now filled by the Otto Wagner Pavilion, part of the Wien Museum and one of the most photographed tourist attractions in Vienna.

Certainly was not a fashionable building as a museum. The station was close somewhat is simulated by.

  • Peculiar architectural style typical of the secessionist movement of Otto Wagner. Go to see it at Karlsplatz

  • The Art Nouveau - Pavilion was built in 1898 in the construction of the light rail train, served as a portal building and was designed by Otto Wagners. The Otto Wagner's Stadtbahn station are a prime example of the Viennese art nouveau. To the Pavilion he extends today revitalized Karlsplatz with the Karlskirche and the Vienna Museum in the immediate vicinity. Since 2005, a permanent documentation on the life and work of the great Austrian architect is a. Worth a visit!

Where to stay in Vienna

As a former imperial capital, Vienna is full of lavish hotels reminiscent of the city’s royal past. If you’re traveling on a budget, it’s not hard to find hotels for a more affordable price. Consider staying in the Innere Stadt, or First District, if you only have a short time in town, as you’ll be within easy walking distance to many of the city’s main tourist attractions. Outside of the central core, Leopoldstadt, or Second District, lines the Danube and offers peaceful walks through tree-lined paths. For shopaholics, Mariahilf, or Sixth District, is a central neighborhood with busy shopping streets and lively markets.
