  • Work on the creation of a new Castle or the new Hofburg (Neue Hofburg) started in 1881 under the leadership of Semper and Karl von Hazenaujer and was completed by Friedrich Omannom, Emil Foerster and Ludwig Baumann to 1913 g. monumentality and grandeur all the ensemble is enhanced by enormousness and more square, which has become today a large lawn. Open space area is dominated by two bronze horse statues on the West side — Archduke Charles, an opponent of Napoleon under Aspernom and Vahram (Anton Dominik Fernkorn, 1859); on the eastern side of the square-Prince Eugene of Savoy, the winner of the Turks (Anton Dominik Fernkorn, 1865). A large portion of the new Hofburg takes a reading Hall of the Austrian National Library and the Museum of Papyri. If my review was helpful-place thumb up

  • A great building and a great yard, where free access. In the Park are some of the small statues and for example Mozart's monument was there, too. The Ringstrasse can be reached along the way.

  • As part of the Hofburg Imperial Palace was constructed in 1913 from 1881. In 1918, the collapse of the Habsburg empire had been built ago. In the curve of the Plaza side of the building is beautiful.

  • Great museum - it's huge, so take a few hours to visit and go through all the different collections. The building is also pretty impressive.
  • If you're interested in the music exhibit then absolutely visit this museum since it is hard to top. Same, to a lesser extent, for the armor collection. Be warned though that almost all text is in German. There's an audio guide available but it is quite limited in coverage.
  • Amazing building. The theme of the exhibits (musical instruments and arms/armour) wasn't my favorite. The exhibition of Greek antiquities was quite good.
  • If you want to see what was stolen during colonisation - here you go. If you want to see how rich people were going crazy with war outfits - they are also here
  • Fantastic place! Great job Welt Museum!

Where to stay in Vienna

As a former imperial capital, Vienna is full of lavish hotels reminiscent of the city’s royal past. If you’re traveling on a budget, it’s not hard to find hotels for a more affordable price. Consider staying in the Innere Stadt, or First District, if you only have a short time in town, as you’ll be within easy walking distance to many of the city’s main tourist attractions. Outside of the central core, Leopoldstadt, or Second District, lines the Danube and offers peaceful walks through tree-lined paths. For shopaholics, Mariahilf, or Sixth District, is a central neighborhood with busy shopping streets and lively markets.
