  • The ticket to the Kunsthistorisches Museum includes entry to three different museums: musical instruments, armatures and Ephesus. It is usually not very busy but well worth a visit. Many things to see and many curiosities, plus an interactive room where you can try playing of musical instruments. You can take pictures without flash.

  • Although part of the Kunsthistorisches Museum, it is the poor relation. We went there to see its collection of musical instruments as it is home to the most important collection of renaissance and bar...  more »
  • Uncrowded, well worth the visit, a large number of armor and musical instruments:) and collection of weapons. The Museum closes at six.

  • It's an amazingly beautiful building, in the center of Vienna, clusters with all the other historical buildings. The museums are good. I especially love the armory, they have a bigger collection than in Dresden. All the important pieces have English audio guide, but all other introductions are written in German. I spent 2.5 hours in the armory, if I could read German, I would stay longer. I think 2 hours would be the least time you need to take a careful look at every piece. The musical instrument history museum is less interesting to me, I only glanced through, but it still took more than an hour. If you are more interested, it would take no less than 2-3 hours. The third museum showed some Greek roman artifacts, less impressive, and all in German. I did not spend time there. Overall, it's totally worth going, and you can easily spend whole day in the museum. The price of ticket is very reasonable as well. I bought the combined ticket, totally worth the money
  • As the museum is not open on Mondays, I was expecting all the tour groups and tourists to all be coming the next day, but when my family went to visit the Neue Burg today, we essentially had the Neue Burg museum completely to ourselves (perhaps the cold and rainy weather contributed to this?) and it was AWESOME! The museum comprises of three sections: The Collection of Historic Musical Instruments, Collection of Arms and Armour, and the Ephesos Museum. The interior of this museum is so gorgeous and it really contributes to making walking around the place so pleasant but the museum sections themselves are incredibly well curated in their own right. Every item is placed carefully and clearly a lot of care has gone into making sure every item is kept in pristine condition. It is very clear that this museum truly cares about the items that are in their possession and as a visitor it makes me feel like my visit (from halfway across the world) and ticket was truly worth it.
  • Breathtaking palace amidst all the other wonderful buildings in the city center of Vienna! Must not miss it!
  • Papyrus Museum in basement is cool but has incomplete English information. Artifacts are interestng, anf staff was kind. Would be 5 stars if all exhibits were fully translated. We entered as part of the 4€ combi-ticket.
  • The parchment museum is a great view. Warning though most of the descriptions are in German. So download am offline version of Google Translation to be able to read it with your camera.
