Opera. I haven't found a plaque that describes in detail the work and the author. Luckily there is the internet and so I could deepen my curiosity.

It's a very important site, full of symbolism, history and culture, that was the Jewish ghetto in the middle ages. The monument in the middle of the square, Schoahcon Memorial (Holocaust), a library with the names of all the concentration camps of the second GM.

An austere memorial maximally concrete... We understand that the event is not happy (it commemorates the Jews killed during World War II) but nor would it not a way to use nature or artists so that the message gets even better?

As if to ensure that this history is preserved and the heritage of the community preserved, a medieval synagogue was discovered during the construction of the memorial. The remains of the synagogue is now preserved at the Judenplatz Museum on this square. I could only imagine the sense of connection this discovery would mean to the community, a bond between the past, to the present and what it could mean for the future. While I may not have lived during those times nor am I part of the Jewish community, this resonates with me as a lesson for all human kind. If we let fear divide us, and hate decide our agenda, we will always see injustice.

We were a little bit disappointed while visiting the museum Jundenplatz. There was also a photo exhibition with nice photographs but unforunately without any background informaiton about the photos

Place e rich in history and content.

12€ entrance seems excessive for a museum you can complete to visit in 10 minutes

Not too much for 12 eur.

Where to stay in Vienna

As a former imperial capital, Vienna is full of lavish hotels reminiscent of the city’s royal past. If you’re traveling on a budget, it’s not hard to find hotels for a more affordable price. Consider staying in the Innere Stadt, or First District, if you only have a short time in town, as you’ll be within easy walking distance to many of the city’s main tourist attractions. Outside of the central core, Leopoldstadt, or Second District, lines the Danube and offers peaceful walks through tree-lined paths. For shopaholics, Mariahilf, or Sixth District, is a central neighborhood with busy shopping streets and lively markets.
