  • A sober monument at a nice place. Sleek rectangular shaped like a room gas. The perimeter of the building list the extermination camps. A duty of memory for the victims of the policy of extermination of the nazi regime. The city of Vienna has chosen not to forget.

  • In an ideal area to get lost walking. It is a very representative place, especially his monument, which I think is a good monument that represents everything that the Jews in Vienna and Europe lived during WWII. Recommended to see the film "Woman in gold" before going to visit it, this film puts us in the environment of war having as one of the protagonists, a young Jewish woman.

  • Just two blocks south from the steps of Am Gestade is the quiet square of Judenplatz. Judenplatz is a significant site in Jewish heritage as there are significant memorials located on this square. The...  more »

  • As if to ensure that this history is preserved and the heritage of the community preserved, a medieval synagogue was discovered during the construction of the memorial. The remains of the synagogue is now preserved at the Judenplatz Museum on this square. I could only imagine the sense of connection this discovery would mean to the community, a bond between the past, to the present and what it could mean for the future. While I may not have lived during those times nor am I part of the Jewish community, this resonates with me as a lesson for all human kind. If we let fear divide us, and hate decide our agenda, we will always see injustice.
  • Interesting perspective on Jews in Austria. Interesting not many Jews returned back to their homeland.
  • We were a little bit disappointed while visiting the museum Jundenplatz. There was also a photo exhibition with nice photographs but unforunately without any background informaiton about the photos
  • Very small, yet remember this is only half the museum complex. The other half is over by the church. Get the Vienna Pass to go into this one. The excavation is amazing.
  • Come here to see right underneath the Holocaust monument an excavated destroyed medieval synagogue.
