  • What a wonderful experience on this small group history tour in Vienna. It was a great walking tour of Vienna and this place does not disappoint.  more »

  • This area has everything. The horse drawn carriage tours are abundant and look superb. At €20 p.p. for a guided tour in a landau pulled by two horses and an English speaking driver, it's a must do. Th...  more »

  • Can be very crowded at times. It's so much fun though to just wait and watch. All the horse carriages, the people, things happening.
  • the central open wound disturbs the entire plaza and takes away from the real valuable historical experience. disgusting
  • One of the historic squares of Wien. In this square you can see a lot of different palaces from different historic period like the Hofburg and the Looshaus. In the center of the square there are Romans ruins of the ancient city. Furthermore you can rent a carriage towed by horses.
  • Very nice and interesting spot. After exploring the city you will eventually get here an will explore nice architecture around yourself.
  • Hofburg from the other side - with horses. Michaelerplatz is the square right past the Michaelertor in the Hofburg. It’s one of the busiest squares in Vienna due to its prominence to the Hofburg. In the middle of the square is an open air site of Roman and medieval remains from the former theatre that used to be on the site. The oldest building on the square is Michaelerkirche, the church that gave this square its name. This is the church of the monarchy and one of the oldest in the city. I counted quite a number of horse carriages who are station here to give visitors a taste of imperialism with a ride through the streets of Vienna, passing through the Michaelertor into the Hofburg. It’s a moment to feel like the emperor, perhaps.
