  • The Museum houses the most important collection of Schiele's paintings in the world. The catalogue of the works is very broad and embraces all periods and subjects painted by the painter, by famous portraits and self-portraits to landscapes and urban. For better framing Schiele Museum includes a section dedicated to secede, where there are some masterpieces by Klimt (including the famous life and death), master of Schiele from which these posting. Present works of contemporary Kokoshka and other (it was a pleasant discovery Richard Gerstl). So if you are a fan of modern art museum just right for you.

  • Unfortunately during our stay already same posters discouraged us to see our current exhibitions. You may be able to find something better.

  • ...denn the other modern museum has not our interest. The ophthalmologist Rudolf Leopold has begun in 1950 to build up his collection of Schiele and Klimmt. Schiele was hardly known at the time and it was able to purchase his works still cheap, he bequeathed these pictures to the Museum. Here you can find but also works from the period around 1900 from Vienna, even a fine collection of Art Nouveau furniture and pictures can be seen.

  • Amazing museum! The Egon Schiele collection is lovely. They have some good prices by Gustav Klimt too. Less crowded than other spots in Vienna. We went to the cafe, which was good too.
  • Home of amazing art pieces, when I visited there were exhibitions from different artists, upstairs there's an amazing place to get breakfast in Vienna. The museum is centred in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and will make an amazing day out.
  • Very well curated museum. But it isn't a typical museum, in that a lot of their exhibits focus in-depth on artists from the region, and they have furniture on display as well. I loved the regional focus, and being able to get a more comprehensive understanding of the artists from the region, from sculptors to graphic designers, painters, furniture designers, etc. The building is also quite nice with large ceilings and big rooms (but not too big). I was comfortable in the spaces, and didn't feel like I was crashing into other people a lot or blinded by too much light, etc.
  • Get here early and enjoy the art. The Ego. Schiele collection is phenomenal but the Gustav Klimt section is not as grand as they make out to be. I would make a second trip.
  • Airy and bright. Excellent displays of Egon Shiele and Klimt
