  • As a lover of art history I couldn't visit this museum. Works by Schiele leave you breathless, beautiful documentary that you can see in the last room in which is explained the meaning of the main works. Unforgettable experience!

  • Very interesting to learn, with the help of an audio guide, about Austrian art here. The highlight was learning about the work and life (so short) of Egon Schiele. Good facilities as well. We ate at t...  more »

  • Rude staff. My poster didn't fit in the free lockers so I had to pay one euro although I already paid for the ticket. Never seen such rude staff in my life. Would not recommend. Go to Albertina. Much better!
  • Gorgeous layout and spectacular displays. Mind-blowing work and curated with obvious passion and expertise. The Klimt exhibit in particular is stunning.
  • Interesting works of Austrian modern art in a tumultuous historical period. It´s well worth paying 13 euros if it were not for some morons, arrogant and paranoid monkeys with earphones that at the slightest gesture of looking for something in your wallet or drink some water will disturb and threaten you with what spluttered... This is not security, this is fascism.
  • Good, but not awesome. Klimt, Anton Kolig, Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka are very nice, but didn't understand Ferdinand Hodler artwork.
  • A must see if you like Schiele and Klimt.

Where to stay in Vienna

As a former imperial capital, Vienna is full of lavish hotels reminiscent of the city’s royal past. If you’re traveling on a budget, it’s not hard to find hotels for a more affordable price. Consider staying in the Innere Stadt, or First District, if you only have a short time in town, as you’ll be within easy walking distance to many of the city’s main tourist attractions. Outside of the central core, Leopoldstadt, or Second District, lines the Danube and offers peaceful walks through tree-lined paths. For shopaholics, Mariahilf, or Sixth District, is a central neighborhood with busy shopping streets and lively markets.
