  • Don't deceive yourself for a trip to the Karl-Marx-Hof. With the u-Bahn from Mitte stands you of the train a stop before Heiligenstadt and look at Hundertwassers Power-heating plant. After the next stop is you in the midst of Karl Marx housing complex. Enjoy the construction in modernistic style and feel the political atmosphere. Are you a social democrat do you feel proud of this construction and the idea behind. Gemeinde Wien-Vienna city-has had many apartment buildings Act for creating good housing and ensure residents ' loyalty to parity, but Karl Marx Hof is the most beautiful. Compare that with a visit to the Communist mønsterby Nowa Huta in Krakow. After a tour, go over to Cafe Marx-closed on Sunday and see a cafe with Committee and fixtures as in DDR. A living museum

  • A long wall of 1.2 km made up of housing with ochre and Red facades a law called the Red Vienna because of the political views of its occupants an interesting and realization in total phase shift with the historic Imperial Vienna

  • The Karl Marx Hof is the largest municipal building in Vienna. That is, the Community financed at that time, as now - only much less, the construction of K.Marx Court... Many families have had place here... Bullet holes are in very old homes still in the walls... for all residents, there was a huge laundry room... There were playgrounds... and the Court could be closed with huge goals... so there was at that time the freedom fighting... Worth is really to make a guided tour... I've heard that the Karl Marx Hof is often visited by architects from all over the world, because it is unique...

  • The Karl-Marx-Hof serves as the protagonist's hideout in the contentious 1974 Italian movie "The Night Porter". I mention it solely because I think the two lead actors Charlotte Rampling and Dirk Bogarde epitomise Plato's idea of beauty. Although in the movie this sensory beauty takes place under sadistic auspices due to the political environment. And this can be seen again in the west today where human beuaty is ridiculed and persecuted and ugliness is facilitated and even imported. I don't think the Karl-Marx-Hof and the political idea behind it is very beautiful but rather mediocre. Further , I do not consider the stronghold-like architecture to be appealing but rather revolting.
  • Ну, очень длинный дом.
  • Beautiful park and the municipality building itself is beautiful and externally maintained. Unfortunately makes the audience more to be desired. But it can't do anything the Karl-Marx-Hof. That's why 5 stars. Because he is easy with the transport to reach, and a beautiful well-kept historic municipality building

  • The Karl-Marx-Hof is one of the best-known gemeindebauten in Vienna and is located in the 19th district of Döbling. Between 1927 and 1933 by the Otto Wagner students and city architect Karl EHN built and officially opened on 12 October 1930, the building included 1382 apartments for about 5,000 residents. [1] all the apartments had at the time of the establishment of a private toilet and a water collection point/washing facilities in the WC lobby or in the kitchen, but don't have a bathroom. Court of honour and mighty goals entering this city within a city. Only 20 percent of the over 150,000-square-metre and 1,000-metre area are cultivated, the rest is used as the playground and garden area. The building contains numerous community facilities such as laundry, baths, kindergartens, a library, medical practices and premises. The Karl-Marx-Hof is four tram stops (about 1,100 m) long, making it the longest contiguous residential building in the world. The municipality building was named after the philosopher, Economist and Communist Karl Marx.
