  • As Vienna you have occasion to visit the Imperial burial vault with tourists again. According to inter food type, some are thrilled, some rather unimpressed. But certainly worth a visit as it is a very unique Tomb. If it has historical interest, should you yourself a tour, if you only wanted to have seen this tomb, is also an individual visit. Tip: in the summer it's always cooler than outside, always warmer in the winter.

  • Is definitely considered. However slight knowledge of the Habsburgs would be beneficial, since many of the issued coffins / personality were unknown to us.

  • The bronze sarcophagi are to the art object. From the 16th century. until to the last of the Habsburgs, you can meet the characters and their story. The guide was absolutely interesting and thrilling. Who would like to deal with the family members of the Habsburgs can learn about life, history, family ties and disputes. In the afternoon, we were only a few visitors, what was very pleasant. Insider's Tip: When keeping you can also in the monastery garden and can admire the Tomb from the top!

  • The Kaisergruft sounds more dark and deathlike than it actually is. The coffins are really beautiful and the tour quite historical. The most interesting part is that they seperated the intestines (especially the heart) and the skeleton. You can't see any of the skeletons or organs thought. Nice to see but probably more interesting for undertakers or historians.
  • I was rather disappointed with this place. Expect to see hundreds of coffins (1 was really huge taking like half room) and one skull on a coffin. That is pretty much about it. Unless you are a huge history lover, I would not recommend you to visit this place.
  • This was by far one of my favorite places in Vienna The sepulcres were just incredible - you definitely get the sense of majesty and luxury.
  • Most amazing coffins you will ever see! Beautiful decorations as well as some pretty creepy skulls and stuff. Very small but interesting museum.
  • I love this place for all the history. Might be a bit creepy to others

Where to stay in Vienna

As a former imperial capital, Vienna is full of lavish hotels reminiscent of the city’s royal past. If you’re traveling on a budget, it’s not hard to find hotels for a more affordable price. Consider staying in the Innere Stadt, or First District, if you only have a short time in town, as you’ll be within easy walking distance to many of the city’s main tourist attractions. Outside of the central core, Leopoldstadt, or Second District, lines the Danube and offers peaceful walks through tree-lined paths. For shopaholics, Mariahilf, or Sixth District, is a central neighborhood with busy shopping streets and lively markets.
