Boasting Baroque castles and gardens mixed with monuments and parks, the architecture of Historic Center of Vienna, a World Heritage Site, reflects significant cultural and political periods in Europe. Most notably, the center's architecture visually represents the Middle Ages, the Baroque period, and the Grunderzeit. This site was the home of Celtic and Roman settlements before developing into a Medieval and then Baroque city. With the Ringstrasse and its historic buildings and monuments, Vienna's historic core is full of important Austrian museums and government buildings. Walk along the Danube, and look for the different architectural imprints left on this city. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Vienna holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Historic Center of Vienna and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Very beautiful city with good transport links. Surprisingly, the prices for food and drink are lower than I would have expected. Had the 2 day pass. It would certainly take 5 days to relaxed to see everything we come back

  • The Historic Center of Vienna is just stunning and majestic like being in Madrid or paris but it is a smaller city.
