  • The Gasometers in Vienna are four former gas tanks, each of 90,000 m³ storage capacity that have been repurposed to form a city within the city. They were originally built between 1896-1899 and the sh...  more »
  • A very interesting object for the visit in terms of fotoplenera. Interesting from the outside and modern on the inside. Huge towers connected by aerial bridges. Restructuring project belongs to the architectural Bureau that designed the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Torre Agbar in Barcelona

  • A wonderful architektural mix of old and modern styles. The only thing I do not like is the underground parking - small and not good organized.
  • At the City border, not much is going on here in the shopping mall. However there is a cinema and the Gasometer is interesting to have seen and read about once.
  • I was there for a concert, the security was optimal, the guards helpful and the acoustics were nice. However if you want to buy something in there (drinks..) they only take cash.
  • The PROS: Well located - although far from city centre, has his own U-Bahn stop which make the return home very smooth. Nice space, good for small concerts with nice staff The CONS: No ATM inside, no paying with card Smoking area really far and with no sound from the going concert. Overall, it's all about the show. But be prepared to leave your cigarettes and bankcard at home. Will return, obviously.
  • Interesting and beautiful place, try out the middle building with great echo :D

Where to stay in Vienna

As a former imperial capital, Vienna is full of lavish hotels reminiscent of the city’s royal past. If you’re traveling on a budget, it’s not hard to find hotels for a more affordable price. Consider staying in the Innere Stadt, or First District, if you only have a short time in town, as you’ll be within easy walking distance to many of the city’s main tourist attractions. Outside of the central core, Leopoldstadt, or Second District, lines the Danube and offers peaceful walks through tree-lined paths. For shopaholics, Mariahilf, or Sixth District, is a central neighborhood with busy shopping streets and lively markets.
