Donauturm, Vienna

Categories: Observation Decks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web
Take in a panoramic overview of the city from the 252 m (827 ft) tall Donauturm. Opened in 1964 during the preparation for the Viennese International Horticultural Show, this structure has become a part of the skyline. Use one of the two high-speed elevators to reach the observation deck at 150 m (490 ft). The glassed-in terrace shields the visitors from strong winds and bad weather conditions. Dine at one of the two revolving restaurants. The tower also features a bungee-jumping site. Be aware that during strong winds the elevators only travel at half speed. • A wonderful experience, after a short wait at the elevator (surcharge) you climb rapidly from 00 to 165 meters high. Fabulous panorama you see all over Vienna, Prater and outside for fans there is a shelf to jump into the void "bungee jumping" truly thrilling to see people throw themselves at dead weight after concentrated to the void. Phenomenal even the dining room, while the 360-degree panorama view through lunches a slow but steady rotation of the whole floor, really impressive. In the Park below you see tiny figures moving in the green ... are people ... really good!

  • Definitely worth visiting on the Danube Tower. Of the coffee, as well as from the observation platform you can win wonderful impressions of Vienna and the surrounding area. Rotate through the restaurant to continually get a new view. It is a pity, however, that the service is really bad. Rather, cake will serve eaten and with one another so loudly spoken that the guests had to hear all this stuff, instead of to. Would a guest not eventually said something, we would now still am waiting. As I said except the service of very :-)

  • This revolving restaurant gives 360 degree views of Vienna at night, which adds to the enjoyment of a meal. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes, in my opinion, it is. It added to the night.
  • The restaurant is wonderful. Great food and a beautiful view. The only problem is the price. To get to the restaurant you need to buy an elevatorticket and the food is quite expensive compared to places of similar quality.
  • Great views from the top, bit strange when you spin around though. Cafe is good, but service isn't the best. Well worth a visit though
  • Great view and revolving experience. It'd be better to pre-book table at the cafe or restaurant.
  • Great View of the city. Don't lose the opportunity to visit. The restaurant is crowded, so if you find a table, don't get up until they force you because is getting late.
  • Decently cheap to get to the top, great views of Vienna and the surrounding areas, excellent revolving restaurant.
