Donauturm, Vienna

(1,000+ reviews on the web)
Observation Deck
Take in a panoramic overview of the city from the 252 m (827 ft) tall Donauturm. Opened in 1964 during the preparation for the Viennese International Horticultural Show, this structure has become a part of the skyline. Use one of the two high-speed elevators to reach the observation deck at 150 m (490 ft). The glassed-in terrace shields the visitors from strong winds and bad weather conditions. Dine at one of the two revolving restaurants. The tower also features a bungee-jumping site. Be aware that during strong winds the elevators only travel at half speed. • If you happen to visit Vienna on a sunny day, then I highly recommend to go to cafe on Donauturm. Cafe is rotating itself so you will get overview of the whole city.  more »
  • The view is gorgeous, especially in the evening, the mood of the light is very beautiful. The price of almost €8 per person for a couple of seconds lift drive is less nice, that is somewhat cheeky I think also if the lift has a glass roof and can be seen directly in the elevator shaft. But the Outlook lets you quickly forget price and you can stay on top as long as one would like. We were at the restaurant and Café.

  • It's already impressive to get a panorama Café. The prices are reasonable compared to the lift tolls. I find something outrageous a drive of 2 X 35 seconds for 7.90 euros.
