Donauturm, Vienna
(4/5 based on 900 reviews on the web)
Take in a panoramic overview of the city from the 252 m (827 ft) tall Donauturm. Opened in 1964 during the preparation for the Viennese International Horticultural Show, this structure has become a part of the skyline. Use one of the two high-speed elevators to reach the observation deck at 150 m (490 ft). The glassed-in terrace shields the visitors from strong winds and bad weather conditions. Dine at one of the two revolving restaurants. The tower also features a bungee-jumping site. Be aware that during strong winds the elevators only travel at half speed. Plan to see Donauturm and other attractions that appeal to you using our Vienna holiday planner.

  • The view from here was amazing, better than Munich. The problem was it wasn't as nice as Munich. I visited on a nice afternoon and there just wasn't as much to do up there. I wouldn't visit again. It ...  more »
  • Superb visit a monument don't miss shame to have to pay to eat. A very nice restaurant rather expensive service impeccable. Far in public transport can market, but in the end it's no big deal.

  • If you find yourself in Vienna is a great idea for a ride at the height of this tower, which has two locations, one in 160 meters tall, the other at 170. Can be reached with an elevator very fast (6.2 meters per second), with the top of glass that allows you to see the path inside the structure (dingrande effect). The view of the city is breathtaking, the restaurant has tables further down on a rotating ring, which while eating allow you to see the whole city, its surroundings and the Danube. Currently Monday to Friday is an ongoing promotion whereby with a nominal cost (€ 18.50) you can enjoy a meal more than decent, for details please consult the Web site, which also allows the online booking. Try for the uniqueness of the location.

  • Best Place to view the whole Vienna. the Wind was fabulous. Loved it .. Highly Recommended !!
  • Nice view from the top. Not very expensive, especially in combination with the Prater big wheel ticket. Worth visiting. The view is simply amazing.
  • Both the tower and the park were amazing, well worth the admission fee. We didn't try the cafe or restaurant, but the observation deck provides the best view of Vienna on the city.
  • Too crowdy! Way too expensive to dont get a place in the Cafe!
  • The observation deck scales dizzy heights and so it really is quite windy up there! The park at the foot of the tower is also really nice.
