Donauturm, Vienna

3.8
#41 of 498 in Things to do in Vienna
Take in a panoramic overview of the city from the 252 m (827 ft) tall Donauturm. Opened in 1964 during the preparation for the Viennese International Horticultural Show, this structure has become a part of the skyline. Use one of the two high-speed elevators to reach the observation deck at 150 m (490 ft). The glassed-in terrace shields the visitors from strong winds and bad weather conditions. Dine at one of the two revolving restaurants. The tower also features a bungee-jumping site. Be aware that during strong winds the elevators only travel at half speed. You can visit the beautiful discount Tower to see the panorama of Vienna. On top we enter an elevator that has a glass roof and can be seen as the elevator climbs to the top. The tower is the possibility of jumping on bungie. Take advantage of the combined ticket buying entry into the tower and Ferris wheel in the Prater.

It is rather far from the Center, and also the tourist bus took centuries arrive. But the rapid rise in the elevator with glass roof and the views from above are worth. The city and the Danube at your feet. Upstairs is a restaurant and a cafe rotating from where you can enjoy the views while you eat or take something.

Spectacular views, elevator with glass roof and a light bulb that illuminates the moat. In addition, it has a unique revolving restaurant

Where to stay in Vienna

As a former imperial capital, Vienna is full of lavish hotels reminiscent of the city’s royal past. If you’re traveling on a budget, it’s not hard to find hotels for a more affordable price. Consider staying in the Innere Stadt, or First District, if you only have a short time in town, as you’ll be within easy walking distance to many of the city’s main tourist attractions. Outside of the central core, Leopoldstadt, or Second District, lines the Danube and offers peaceful walks through tree-lined paths. For shopaholics, Mariahilf, or Sixth District, is a central neighborhood with busy shopping streets and lively markets.
