  • Most people go straight to the crypt under this church, pay their fee, and go to look at the entombed remains of Hapsburg royals. But take a minute to go into the church, which is free. Before you ent...  more »
  • I feel bad... the church is free... but it is another 7 euros to go into the crypt where all of the coffins with the bodies of the Hapsburgs are (minus hearts and intestines, those reside elsewhere). ...  more »

  • I’ve always heard of the phrase Capuchin Crypt but only realise that it is this one, the crypt at the Capuchin Church. It’s significance? It’s pretty much the final resting place for of the Habsburg family including 12 emperors and 19 empress. The church was undergoing some sort of restoration during my visit, which explains the eerie creepy feeling when I walked by daily until I finally notice the signboard and realise it was the Imperial Crypt.
