  • Theatre Museum located in the Hofburg Imperial Palace. I would have thought that at first, the Cinema Museum, Opera, popular here, what kind of movies you, what kind of exhibit? It went thought gone fishing was for Opera Museum. The exhibits include miniature clocks gold and glittering costumes used in the movie, behind the scenes.

  • At the time, the Theatre Museum shows a very interesting and very complex exhibition theatre of the Baroque. The juxtaposition of the rival Emperor houses in the area of the theatre performances is impressive. The exhibition worth particularly if you invested some time and the exhibits explain closer by means of audio guide. The Theatre Museum is also in the possession of the most beautiful in my view image by Klimt.

  • I am an outspoken "fan" the Baroque world of Opera - and the current exhibition "Spettacolo barocco" in the Austro Hungarian Milit. Theatre Museum in the Palais LOBKOWITZ (why the Castle theater shows here as the title image?) is an absolute MUST for lovers of the genre. The key issues are. Baroque Theatre, in particular to the reign of Leopolds I (who was himself himself as a composer well) and others with an excellent presentation of the Festival Opera listed on the occasion of his wedding "Il pomo d'Oro" - including a 30 minute video summary of this almost 6 hour monumental work, which gives a very good impression of the former Theatre spell with coloured engravings. Also the künstlerisch-/ dedicated to political competition on Opera level between the House of Habsburg and the Court, Louis XIV of France is a whole range. The Baroque Theater of Cesky Krumlov gives a special flair with the loans of his costume and the model of the theatre of the exhibition (a very good documentary restoration and prepare for an opera performance in this theatrical gem in Cesky Krumlov will be shown in a video room). Not be forgotten also the religious 'exploitation' of the Baroque theatre of the Church must especially during the Counter-Reformation. As an example, a documentary to the Nativity scene will be shown on big screen in Abbey of Zwettl (lower Austria). What a luck that I live and have an annual ticket for the Museum of fine arts, among which also the Theatre Museum is housed in the Palais LOBKOWITZ in Vienna. So it is possible to visit this wonderful exhibition (until 30.1.2017) more often and to devote myself then each particular individual topics. Tip for those people, it will be not possible, to come in the remaining time to Vienna: the excellent exhibition catalog that can be purchased at the shop of the Kunsthistorisches Museum. ATTENTION: The Theatre Museum is closed on Tuesdays!
