  • Good overview of the evolution of architecture in Austria through the years. Only issue, they have a credit card machine but you must spend a minimum of €20. Two adult tickets comes to €18. Bizarre rule and annoying when it's lashing rain outside. Anyway, bring cash, it's worth a visit.
  • Of the two shows available the day we were there, the Assemble was by far the hit. The a_show suffered from clutter and a space that was terribly hot and humid. We did learn a lot however. Also, the price of admission was significantly lower than many comparable museums in the area.
  • I couldn't go in. The entrance price is €9, but the minimum credit card spend is €20. 2016 and being asked to pay by cash; quaint. I have visited everywhere else in Vienna that I wanted to and not needed cash. I went to mumok next door, where I had no problem paying by card. If you want to go, take cash. Or go in a group of at least three. Disappointed.
  • Great experience, i had opportunity to visit exhibition about modernist Austrian architecture as well as temporary exhibition. There is nice cafe for snacks and drinks.
  • Interesting to see some of the factors that drove early architecture, more modern stuff less interesting and less well explained

Where to stay in Vienna

As a former imperial capital, Vienna is full of lavish hotels reminiscent of the city’s royal past. If you’re traveling on a budget, it’s not hard to find hotels for a more affordable price. Consider staying in the Innere Stadt, or First District, if you only have a short time in town, as you’ll be within easy walking distance to many of the city’s main tourist attractions. Outside of the central core, Leopoldstadt, or Second District, lines the Danube and offers peaceful walks through tree-lined paths. For shopaholics, Mariahilf, or Sixth District, is a central neighborhood with busy shopping streets and lively markets.
