  • Coming from Munich, we come to Innsbruck, in a beautiful, sunny day. We also had a great reception. The taxi driver, very friendly, especially to us from Germany. As I said earlier, the town is charming. This church is impressive. Was built as a funerary monument to Emperor Maximilian, who is buried at another location. I was impressed, because, despite having read about, could never imagine so much greatness. Worth knowing!

  • Hofkirche connected to the Franciscan monastery Innsbrucker 1553-1583 with a Renaissance porch, a three-naved late Gothic Hall church is erected and accessible via a staircase silver chapel with the tomb of Katarina Loxan; the central altar, choir a 15 register organ, wrought iron choir screen and side altars. Here is the tomb of the Tyrolean freedom fighter Andreas Hofer and his companions Johann Haspinger and Josef Speckbacher. A central black marble sarcophagus are 28 life-size bronze statue (black Mander), Emperor Maximilian I itself however, is buried in the Cathedral of Wiener Neustadt. The bronze statue depicting ancestors and contemporaries of the Emperor, they belong to the most beautiful still images of the Renaissance. Combined with a visit to the Tyrolean Folklore Museum can purchase tickets in the Hofkirche.

  • A must see. The bronze statues are impressive, no photo does them justice. The altar is amazing.
  • Nice church with Maximilian's cenotaph and 28 statues, the most famous one is Rudolf I of Germany.
  • Surprisingly good introduction. My girlfriend and watched the show alone at night after schloss ambras (they have a portrait of the original dracula there!). Both of our hair stood up straight to the ceiling.
  • The majestic grave of Kaiser Maximilian guarded by an army of statues. Just have to be seen if visiting Innsbruck.
  • Very beautiful and worth a visit
