Mountain
Discover where the Romans crossed the Alps to make the northern lands part of their empire on your visit to Grossglockner, the highest mountain in the nation. Enjoy the views on the drive up the mountain and then walk to the glacier and waterfalls in the area. Eat at one of the restaurants or pack a picnic and lunch at one the tables along the road. Learn about the natural history and geology of the area from placards offering English and German explanations of sites, and purchase souvenirs from the gift shops nearby. Remember to pack warm clothing, as the temperature drop at the top is significant. Parking and restroom access are included in the toll incurred on the drive to the peak, but note that the road is only open certain months throughout the year, so be sure to check the website for accessibility information. • It is not here to discover a glacier, but rather to enjoy, throughout the road which leads, of landscapes, all more beautiful than the other. Do not hesitate a second to pay 35 euros to take advantage of this route, it's really worth! In addition, the planned development to regularly stop to enjoy the view and take pictures. Once arrived at the level of the glacier, feel free to take the time to you y stroll on foot and open the eye to meet marmots!

  • Despite having walked all over Europe for 20 years, did not know this road inside the Park. The entrance is quite expensive 35 € that then there were "abbuonati" in that we stayed at the hotel just outside the exit of the Park towards Italy. We were 5 days so we visited all of the prospects of the street and the landscape; positive note for 3 days the Sun was out and then everything beautifully, the last 2 fog and low clouds = there was almost nothing and, for those who pay 35 €, is not exactly the best. The Council then watch the weather before you leave.

  • Beautiful mountain road with stunning views, steep turns, streams and waterfalls. Admission is charged, but it is worth it.
