  • The atmospheric magic of advent away from commercialism and kitsch in a spectacular environment. Stories of earlier, joint singing, arts and crafts, cookie and bread from dried pears, crafting, letters to Santa Claus,... be sure to recommend potato soup and mush.

  • Here is the one of my plan to visit the way of Austrian live in the past. Very peaceful and full of fresh air.
  • 1. we were at the 27.10.2016 in beautiful Herbstwetter(Sonne, nicht zu kalt) open is the open air museum from may until 31.10 - as well as outside these hours on days with special Veranstaltungen(z.B.: Allerheiligenstritzlbacken-gleich ausverkauft, leider) 2. This time, the reason for our visit was a special, because we were the last time no less than 26 years ago there to visit! Now it is time to see what has changed there we thought. A pre-emptive... a lot! We were still excited about the many buildings from all regions of in Austria can be seen there. Also, you can get a good idea about the time and circumstances in which these houses were still occupied. Yet one has the impression of "Heat", although the houses are inhabited, somehow and sometimes one has the impression that, certainly hard-working, residents right to the front door comes and sits in the room to eat. The 2016 from its old location in the open air museum and reconstructed "Guest House to the Göller" is also highly recommended. And this not because I had to have the opportunity as a child in original experience. The food and the ambience there are wonderful! Carefully embedded in "a past time", because so one feels when one roams the museum village, the Guest House has found a new home. It is the perfect place for a rest and a meal in the South cautiously modernisert and revised. Again, alone already eating due to (roast pork, Surschnitzl & Museum skewer are worth a SIN!) The cultural aspect is also not too short can Natürich, but must here be indicated that it really only for people is are recommended "on foot". How many buildings have been added over the years can do I at all not to say, but we had the impression, would have doubled the number of homes. Because the Museum spreads over an entire Valley of incl page ditches which applies to explore. So you have then several kilometres in the legs and beautiful impressions in the memory after such a day! Conclusion: For all the times back in the "old days" and immerse a rural life in Austria really want a recommendation! For those who are not so familiar with customs, I recommend a guided tour. Again, but slightly earlier ;-)

  • Very nice place. Nice to visit expecially in summer or with good weather. there also is a restoration area, but it is quite far from the entry need to plan 45 min walk to get there
  • A great museum of original houses from Austria. Very worth visiting.
  • Austrian open-air museum Stübing - g ' sang and sound! Report and more photos on info-graz. Already traditional singer and musician meeting in cooperation with the Styrian folk song movement again musicians, singers and dancers brought the Valley of the Stübing open-air museum to the blades. The high points were inter alia to cutting the Maypole and the "little folk songs and Yodeling school" to join.
