  • The South of Linz, Augustinian Abbey is one of the finest baroque creations of in Austria; the monastery was built over the tomb of Saint Florian, which here was martyred in 304; Today, Florian is the Patron Saint against fire and water. The Foundation of the monastery dates back to the year 1071 m, 1686-1751 Baroque building was designed by Carlo Carlone and Jakob Prandtauer. The Church of the monastery has two 80 m high visible towers, inside is one rich stucco decorations, richly decorated organ loft and choir stalls, the pulpit is made of black marble, including rests of the former monastery organist Anton Bruckner. Worth seeing the staircase in the courtyard of the Abbey building, the library with approximately 150,000 volumes and around 1,000 incunabula and beautiful ceiling frescoes, as well as the old village Gallery with her remarkable Sebastian are altar. STIFT Sankt. Florian is now considered care centres of science and culture in Upper Austria, Austria.

  • I worked even in a performance with the choir in the pen. The guys are very friendly and open-minded, I've probably felt immediately. The rooms are really worth seeing, especially the Sala Terrena, the large marble hall. The Basilica with the ceiling frescoes is very impressive and of course the Bruckner organ and Anton Bruckner's grave stone and coffin in the crypt. I highly recommend this beautiful pen, it is really worth to visit!
