Schladming, Schladming

(4.6/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
Hit the slopes at Schladming, one of the Steiermark region's most popular ski and outdoor areas. Grab your skis or snowboard and carve up the resort's 115 km (72 mi) of paths and courses, comprising 25 different runs of varying difficulty. Keep in mind that though the area boasts a wide array of intermediate runs, you may find it less suited to you if you're either a beginner or very advanced. You can experience the forested wilderness of the mountains by zipping along on the resort'[s 250 km (156 mi) of cross-country and backcountry trails, or test your trick skills at the terrain park and half pipe area. In the warm season, you can explore the surrounding countryside and mountain wilderness via a network of trails, suitable for hiking, biking, and sightseeing. Hitting the pool or tennis court is also an option, thanks to the area's outdoor sports complex. To visit Schladming and other attractions in Schladming, use our Schladming vacation planner.

  • Schladming is a pleasant city with several cosy places to eat or get coffee/cake. Skiing is fine, however, there is a long transport between the various mountains and can be challenging for those who do not have much experience. The cabin up from the city in the morning is really slow and very poorly decorated, for people to be squeezed in between 2 very small control locations and actual cabin accommodates only 6. It is not good enough, it should be big booths at such a place and much easier access.

  • Schladming is actually a city-and not as many other ski towns-a city built for the occasion-and so is the cozy. Plenty of good restaurants and bars and a good atmosphere. Skiing is good up there but it is a little annoying that everyone has to be up with the same lift in the morning but definitely good place Thomas
