Liechtensteinklamm, Sankt Johann im Pongau
(4.6/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
Explore the heart of a mountain region at Liechtensteinklamm, a deep ravine nestled in the Austrian Alps. Named in honor of the Prince of Liechtenstein, who spurred the creation of the walkways at the site, the ravine is constantly deepened by the powerful waterfalls that pound the rock. Visit the site and wend your way back into the gorge via the 1 km (0.6 mi) walkway, which you'll also use to return to the entrance. You'll find yourself surrounded by imposing stone walls, some of which rise to a height of 300 m (984 ft) around you, barely leaving room for the footpath and frothing river below. At the end, you'll be rewarded with an up-close view of a crashing cascade. Wear sturdy shoes with good grip, as the constant spray can make the paths slippery. • A natural monument, is worth a visit. The Canyon washed deep into the rock with the Roaring River is spectacular. You need no special condition, but sturdy shoes and be trampled due to the slippery paths. Completely unsuitable for prams!

  • The hike through the Gorge of Liechtenstein offers breathtaking impressions in many places. It must be however easy walking.

  • It is the most-visited Gorge of in Austria. About well built bridges and footbridges walking with fascinating light and shadow play between steep cliffs and thundering waters. Especially on hot summer days a refreshing experience. Very good Guest House "Ravine Prince" with a garden, is located at the entrance to the Gorge.

  • To Many tourists walking in a row. Payment only by cash. Perfect walking roads. Beautifull waterfalls And big rocks. There are Many other klamms in Austria; Garnitzenklamm, Weisenbachklamm
  • More worth seeing than Vintgar Gorge. The walk was easy and short. Even better experience if visiting right after rain.
  • Awesome place , you will enjoy your time , but you have to be fit enough to go there. Remember, there is no access to any sort of cart ( baby's stroller)
