  • A must do when visiting Salzburg. Especially if you like Stiegl Beer. Of course they serve the perfect pint of Goldbrau (which is the regular Stiegl you can get everywhere). So much so that it's hard ...  more »
  • Went there this morning, was in a bit of a rush (had to catch a train) but well worth going! Especially with the Salzburg card. Got there at 10am had museum to ourselves and wandered round at our own ...  more »
  • Nice museum, with mostly a whole beautiful 3d cinema with a nice promo film. Museum is extensive and very good. You can load your own audio guide on your phone for more information. Unfortunately, this is not available in Dutch, English or German. After you get a nice reminder (beer mug) and a beer tasting with three types. Value for Money, also Stiegl: now I drink only Stiegl on my vacation in Austria.

  • We got the tour and beer tasting for free with our Salzburg cards, which was awesome! The tour is worth doing, and was in English (not sure if they all are or if we just got lucky). The tour uses some multimedia experiences such as a wraparound projector video and some museum-like exhibits, and the female guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and humorous. And the beer is great!
  • Terrific tour, the English tour was great and the host was very nice and funny. You get a great gift and then a tasting after. I fully recommend doing this.
  • Very nice brewery and beer garden! There is a lot to see on the tour but we were rushed through pretty fast. I think that the guide though that our group would rather be sampling the beer and ended our tour early.
  • I enjoyed the museum tour. Both the food and beer were great.
  • Great place to visit if you have two hours to spare in Salzburg. Good price for a tour that includes three beers to taste and a gift. The tour can be guided or unguided. I decided to go without a guide. The tour is actually very long. It's cool, unique and interesting, but long. Near the end I stopped reading and just looked at stuff because I was ready for beer. The beer was great. The servers were very friendly. The gift shop is fairly priced. Definitely worth checking out.

Where to stay in Salzburg

There’s no better area to stay in the city where Mozart was born than the historical city center, a World Heritage Site. Salzburg's hub offers comfortable accommodations nestled between a rich array of sights. The Salzach River cuts directly through town, dividing the city into east and west. Look for accommodations in the Altstadt, tucked in between the river and the city’s mountain, Monchsberg. For budget-minded travelers, try a centrally located youth hostel or small hotel. If price isn’t an issue, splurge on Austrian luxury in an upscale hotel.
