  • Central location which becomes the "heart" of the city in the advent season as it hosts the largest Christmas market and, basically, the richest offerings on the subject. A party atmosphere where the huge crowd to be the protagonist, crowd that is of various nationalities and thronging in front of most houses. Some of these are really very attractive, some quite ordinary. To get to this square along main street (pedestrian) normally where there are first-rate shops that enchant the passers-by on both sides. Nearby is another market, the proceeds of which are intended for charity, while on the other side of the river is worth a visit to Mirabellplatz, small but nice.

  • A very nice Christmas market located in Salzburg. Trumpet player can be seen at the weekend. Of course, it's beautiful in the evening with great lighting - however, the market is also very full, so patience is needed. The booths are also very nice and offered little junk. Definitely worth a visit.

  • Located on the left bank of the Salzach River, lies at the heart of the old town, the Salzburg residence square with its famous fountain of residence; This marble built 1651-1661 from Untersberg is considered one of the most beautiful fountains in the Alps: snorting horses, dolphins, atlases, topped by a raised shell. The archbishops residence with their staterooms, wall and ceiling frescoes, is located on the South side of the square. In addition, finds the Cathedral with its high towers, decorated by various front panel.
