Red Bull Hangar-7, Salzburg

4.5
#2 of 102 in Museums in Austrian Alps
Specialty Museum Museum
Marvel at the collection of 25 historical airplanes, helicopters, motors, and Formula One racing cars at Red Bull Hangar-7. The "Flying Bulls", an association of pilots and mechanics, founded this multifunctional building in 1999. Have a coffee at the lounge next to a P-38 Lightning--Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's service airplane. Watch the sunset reflected in the wings of the Mitchell B-25 from the café. Dine at Ikarus--a Michelin-starred restaurant. You'll also see two BO 105s--the world's only civil helicopter licensed for aerobatics. • Also as an outsider, and not directly or F1 Red Bull event fan, you will be crushed by the offer of machines. Easy to find, spacious and free parking. Free entrance! Near autostrade. Friendly staff, nice bar-themed café.

  • A Museum? A foundation? Do not miss to visit the Hangar 7. B25 bomber to a bunch of formula 1, you'll take full eyes. For food lovers, qques heads are available in their restaurants on-site. A store nice to offer a little souvenir, because the entry and parking Hangar 7 are free of charge with no obligation: Bravo!

Where to stay in Salzburg

There’s no better area to stay in the city where Mozart was born than the historical city center, a World Heritage Site. Salzburg's hub offers comfortable accommodations nestled between a rich array of sights. The Salzach River cuts directly through town, dividing the city into east and west. Look for accommodations in the Altstadt, tucked in between the river and the city’s mountain, Monchsberg. For budget-minded travelers, try a centrally located youth hostel or small hotel. If price isn’t an issue, splurge on Austrian luxury in an upscale hotel.
