  • The town we found on the small square at the beautiful battle hours. Town Hall, in my opinion, it is worth to explore. So much so that is worth it for the most important and beautiful old town street Getreidegasse. Looks very pretty town hall. This high "thin" gray building with a tower with a Spire at the top. Loved the Town Hall clock. They are very large and brightly colored. In my opinion, they give the town hall tower view from a Disney cartoon. In the darkest Middle ages at the City Hall imposed numerous death sentences for involvement in witchcraft. Town hall tower was used as a sentinel post, from which observed. In the 16th century bell tower and appeared on the building of large watches-the first in the city. Clockwork for those hours is thought to be the oldest existing in all of Austria. Inside we don't hit. Be sure to visit this historic place

  • Remember when I went through my travel book to find the old town alleys, the small shops and the old European buildings that attracted me. But when I came, it was a bit disappointing. Not the Old City area is not beautiful, no characteristics, but too many visitors, and is a team, if less people, scattered a little bit, I believe it has a thick old city features.

  • Great place. Tons of history. Gorgeous old buildings. Recommend going early when it's not so busy. It gets very crowded!
  • Having the chance to visit Salzburg old town in the morning for shopping and in the afternoon for relaxing and enjoying walking around and feel the history in the walls and the streets.
  • One of the most famous and important city which is worth visiting when there is less crowded (very early hours of the morning and late at night ...). Unavoidable stage in the tour of the city

Where to stay in Salzburg

There’s no better area to stay in the city where Mozart was born than the historical city center, a World Heritage Site. Salzburg's hub offers comfortable accommodations nestled between a rich array of sights. The Salzach River cuts directly through town, dividing the city into east and west. Look for accommodations in the Altstadt, tucked in between the river and the city’s mountain, Monchsberg. For budget-minded travelers, try a centrally located youth hostel or small hotel. If price isn’t an issue, splurge on Austrian luxury in an upscale hotel.
