Where to stay in Salzburg

There’s no better area to stay in the city where Mozart was born than the historical city center, a World Heritage Site. Salzburg's hub offers comfortable accommodations nestled between a rich array of sights. The Salzach River cuts directly through town, dividing the city into east and west. Look for accommodations in the Altstadt, tucked in between the river and the city’s mountain, Monchsberg. For budget-minded travelers, try a centrally located youth hostel or small hotel. If price isn’t an issue, splurge on Austrian luxury in an upscale hotel.

  • One of the many churches in Salzburg, but not frequented by tourists. This particularly beautiful church, stands on top of a hill. You do have to have for free: first you with a lot of stairs to above steps, if you then at the Church are you should back down and once you enter the church you should again with a lot of stairs to the top. Very nice and baroque interior.
