Mirabell Palace, Salzburg
(4.4/5 based on 3,800+ reviews on the web)
Built as a token of Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich's love for his mistress, Mirabell Palace is perhaps best known as the backdrop of "The Sound of Music." The former palace was built in 1606 and now houses the offices of the mayor and municipal council. The boxwood gardens contain mythology-themed statues from 1730, as well as four groups of sculptures representing the four elements. If you're a fan of "The Sound of Music," don't miss the horse fountain, where the von Trapp children sang "Do-Re-Mi." A stroll through the gardens will jog many memories from the film. • Both the palace and the garden was good change to the old city . In the night with lights the palace looked great
  • Visited the Mirabell Palace and gardens, I can say that emotions got plenty! Well-groomed territory, incredibly beautiful landscapes, fascinating and mysterious sculptures that stand for a long time, keep the history. A lot of tourists, due to the large territory of sensations of discomfort due to the number of visitors there. Mirabell Gardens, this is an excellent walking area where you can enjoy nature and wonderful company.

  • Nice building, but the gardens is worth the visit. Very well taken care of. It would be a quiet place for moments of peace for the amount of tourists who flock there. Stay right in the Centre and has easy parking nearby.
