Augustiner Braustubl, Salzburg

4.5
Taste fine, renowned beer and find out about the brewing process itself at Augustiner Braustubl. You can enjoy your beer in comfort at Austria’s largest tavern, which has a massive beer garden with 1,400 seats. Experience the authentic, traditional taste of the beer, whose recipe is more than four centuries old. The brewery operates in a former monastery building, with beer still served in "steins" (stone mugs) straight from the wooden barrels. Make sure you also taste the traditional Salzburg cuisine served here. • I went at night, walked down the side alley where there is access and never imagined what was to find me. It is a MUST if you are in Salzburg. The whole place is huge, I don't know the capacity that has exactly. The good news is that there are not only tourists but there are also many local people. In fact, it tends to share table. The place belongs to an ancient monastery of the Augustinian monks. There are several food stalls both inside and on the side of the courtyard. Recommend go at night by the lights decoration they gave to the patio. Very good room, had everything. Single people, friends, couples, families, locals, tourists, etc.

Where to stay in Salzburg

There’s no better area to stay in the city where Mozart was born than the historical city center, a World Heritage Site. Salzburg's hub offers comfortable accommodations nestled between a rich array of sights. The Salzach River cuts directly through town, dividing the city into east and west. Look for accommodations in the Altstadt, tucked in between the river and the city’s mountain, Monchsberg. For budget-minded travelers, try a centrally located youth hostel or small hotel. If price isn’t an issue, splurge on Austrian luxury in an upscale hotel.
