  • This church has a very interesting architectural history. It was originally located in the "Platzl", the corner where Linzergasse meets Dreifaltigkeitsgasse. After a great debate, it was demolished by the City Government to open a wider path. The new Church of St Andrew was built in neo-Gothic style in 1898. The Church was again destroyed by air raids in World War II, leaving only the western part unscathed. The reconstruction of a simpler version of the Church of St. Andrew was completed in 1949. Despite all the changes, the Church failed to blend in with its surroundings. Other adjustments were made in 1970: the towers were shortened and covered with flat roofs in the shape of pyramid. The facade was painted light grey and white to make it fit in the urban landscape. Thursday morning there's a farm market, a fair-free around the Church, the Schranne.

  • The St. Andrakirche Church in Salzburg, has its historical origins from the year 1418, it was dedicated to the Apostle of Andrew. In 1818, a great town fire in Salzburg raged, the devotional Church was badly damaged. She was prepared for the time being, only makeshift again. a new building of the former Church of devotion began in 1892. In 1945 it was destroyed by aerial bombs. 1969-1972 it has realized a new of prayer Church the current church building has though historic roots, a new building in the Salzburg - Neustadt, but directly across from the historic Schloss Mirabell located. A parking garage is located under the Church, that is something for a church, and conclude, in our time on the new building. A market is held on weekdays, the large square in front of the Church. The Church reflection, is located right in the middle-class life, nowadays, from here, has been placing certainly at the right place and built close to the citizens. As a church, it is the tallest structure here in the new town, is surrounded by imposing buildings, and stands still impressive by their two large church towers of the area in a special way. One enters the Church of devotion, the simplicity of the Interior is striking one. Without much pomp, it shines with beautiful colorful stained-glass Windows, which gives this bright Interior, around the altar, sunshine, a nice light mood. The inner vault with its ceiling design, fits to this church. The Church of devotion, I personally like much much better, as the Cathedral in the old town. Who is equipped to showy, which is nice to look at, but a church so some don't actually needs. I think that a church must meet is still their purpose for which it has been built, and be equipped not as a museum. The devotional Church meets these demands in a simplicity of equipment, which has to offer also their beauties, in many small objects. The prayerful can here fully and completely on his prayer focus, everything you need from a church, find here, what needs more? Every time we pay a visit to Salzburg, St. Andrew Church is our first point, here we can enjoy the rest again before we move in the thick of the old town, we also know to enjoy. Compare the St. Andrew's Church times with the Salzburg Cathedral, the difference is significant. Both God's houses represent the same faith, which is one other therefore poorer or richer than that?

  • The Church of St. Andrä in Salzburg is in the middle of a car as well as an underground car park. This is getting already etas. From the outside it looks like a big, defiant bulwark. In the Interior, lacks features
