A&O Salzburg Hauptbahnhof, Salzburg

(3.9/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Salzburg Hauptbahnhof is the main railway station in Salzburg, capital of the federal state of Salzburg in Austria. It is the most important station in the agglomeration of Salzburg, and a major transportation hub in western Austria.OverviewFor a long time, Salzburg Hauptbahnhof has been a border station at the Austrian border with Germany. It serves both the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and the Deutsche Bahn AG. It also forms a junction between several ÖBB local and long-distance transport routes. At Salzburg Hbf, the Western Railway from Vienna and Linz links with the Rosenheim–Salzburg railway, on which, along with international trains, so-called ÖBB corridor services make express connections with the Tyrol and the Vorarlberg, via the German Corner at Rosenheim. Another main line, the Salzburg-Tyrol railway, heads from Salzburg Hbf in a southerly direction via Bischofshofen and Zell am See to Wörgl Hauptbahnhof. In Schwarzach-St. Veit, yet another main line, the Tauern Railway, branches off from this line.

  • Since the last big renovation you feel really welcome on arrival at the Salzburg main station, because he is bright and clear and offers a variety of shops and Cafés

  • Salzburg central station opened originally in 1860. Since the extensive renovation of 2010-2014 is bright and barrier-free one of the most modern stations of in Austria, with a large park for bicycles on Schallmooser page. The transport Club Austria chose the Hbf 2016 to the most beautiful station of in Austria. From here in all directions of the State not only local travel, you can go in all directions of Europe, some with direct links. The offers in the shopping Hall provide travellers as well as locals on the way from morning till night.

  • Passage was widely deployment, such as offices and shops in simple, easy-to-understand structure. Restrooms are new and clean. Is a train station not to mention, is easy to use.

  • The reception was okay. I was little bit confused because it was my first time at a hostel that I had to rent beddings separately. The bedroom was clean but some beds had lights and outlets right next to them and some bed didn't have anything. The location is right in front of the central station. You can take bus or just walk to anywhere. I recommend to walk if the weather allows.
  • Very nice hostel, big, bright and warm room. Had all the facilities and a bar open 24h. Nice stuff and great and relax atmosphere.
  • It was a great experience in A&O. Location is very close to Salzburg hauptbahnof, could reach by feet within 2 minutes. Staffs are very friendly, patient, understanding and kind. Room was spacious and had all our needs. I would surely come back next time.
  • The hostel was great, good clean room and bathroom. Breakfast was also good, our room was pretty small though with 2 of the beds being closer to a double bed
  • Nice place, not too far from the city, being only 20 minutes from the centre of Salzburg. Nice staff and rooms were clean and large.
