  • This village is dedicated entirely to the poppy. First I suppose congratulations to the founder of the village of poppy -, it was a mayor, who was nearly 30 years ago in the Office and himself wondered how he market his village economically could. Of course excellent he succeeded, with the help of the population. All shops, restaurant, just everything is equipped with the poppy logo. Corporate identity everywhere in this small 86 inhabitants village. The visitors can learn a lot about the poppy generally and specifically the Waldviertler poppy of the grey on the poppy trail.

  • An entire village dedicated to about 25 years ago, this plant and the ways of marketing of the various products around the poppy. Politically and economically a very smart move in his time. Located directly on the B36 between Ottenschlag and Zwettl found here not only lots of information about the poppy but also - as we visited's - a blossom, that their same looks. We didn't know before our visit of the Waldviertel, which variety of colours can have poppy flowers. Here in arm shock all about poppy is really perfectly prepared and this is reflected with perfect promotional campaigns also on the seemingly endless flow of visitors. It is already almost goes without saying that here you can buy everything, what can be baked, boiled, pressed from poppy and burned and everything poppy can be printed, embroidered, pressed and painted. Of course is it next to the poppy business shop of also poppy farmers, a poppy host, a poppy seed mill, a poppy Kirtag, a poppy box, a poppy garden, a poppy farm shop and last but not least to a 60 metre long flower paintings. Poppy: a small plant with unimagined possibilities!

  • We go on a day trip in the Waldviertel. Here we enddeckten the poppy trail. We not astonished, what you can learn everything about poppy. The poppy village is open to the public all year round even. Also they have a poppy farm shop, and every visitor receives a gas gift even with the Nö.Card, (tastes great). You can look there at the longest flower painting. Matürlich we took with some oils, which you can taste before place also.
