  • We had a short tour of the basement of the experience. A fascinating labyrinth of hallways, staircases and showrooms. Before a quick explanation of Retzer's main square with chapel. A very nice tour guide issued statements in refreshing way. The wine tasting was appropriate conclusion!

  • Yesterday it was time again, went with friends to Retz. I wasn't there so ever, but my husband and our friends. Unfortunately it rained, making nothing from me, I desert Yes the a cellar will surprise us. Retz has the largest historical wine cellar of in Austria. It the wine was fermented scchon in the middle ages by the winemakers in the basement. The basement in the city was intended only for the storage and aging of the wines. Every citizen who had a cellar under the House therefore proceeded to enlarge these as needed. Thus, floor cellar are then emerged with two or three floors. Total reached the basement facilities of the city Retz an extension which is now larger than the above-ground traffic area. There's a wonderful guided tour through the cellar of Retz. The basement has a length of about 20 km. The basement is up to 20 m deep in bare sea sand and has a temperature of about 10 degrees. Man learns too much about the city and its citizens. At the end, there was a wine tasting. Of course we took some bottles. The motto of the Retzer... All the time, this is the inscription on the Verderberhaus. Get info about it at the beginning of the Guide. . So you should experience a tour to, then seems again in the Sun. There was no rain on this day. Because it was so beautiful, we visited also the Windmill. The way is well described. But we have taken the car, there is also a walking distance from the mill. (Suitable for sport, it is about 1 hour). I need certainly so long. Unfortunately could not visit them, had to. For we are but then went to this year to strengthen. It was a beautiful trip.
