  • At just over 2000 meters, Schneeberg is the first foothill of the Alps. Rising impressively from Puchberg, it's accessible by a cog-wheel railway and is traversed by numerous well-marked paths, some c...  more »
  • The snow mountain with an altitude of 2076 meters offers perfect for day trips to extensively to wander and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery and the cool, fresh mountain air! You can either explore the several marked hiking trails on the mountain and with the snow mountain train takes you up and down, but is dependent on the tight timetable of the Schneebergbahn! A nice alternative is the train ride up and then comfortably and independently by the very tight timetable back to the Valley to wander, but the trail to the part is quite steep and you should wear good walking shoes. To the Hochschneeberg mountain, there are beautiful and inviting huts to stop such as the fisherman's hut on 2049 m and thus almost at the top with great view. Who wants it not quite so far up and also less steep like it, can stop the also very cosy Damböckhaus halfway in that!
