  • This museum is due to the persistence and perseverance of one man. Mr Haubenwallner has created this village of houses shared to the demolition in the area, which he dismantled and rebuilt here, in almost 30 years. The authentic atmosphere enchants the visitor at the first moment and kidnapped in historic buildings, which were built from about 1900 to 1950. The entire ensemble has even a consecrated church services take place in which many historic craft houses, postal, railway station etc. etc.! A visit to this unique Museum is absolute duty!

  • Informative and surprisingly fascinating excursion to ancient proved Austrian village, located in the village of Menshof. The exposition. completeness will give odds to any ethnographic museum in Russia. Struck a careful attitude to the history of his people

  • a wonderful experience. but you will realize how fast time went by, also slightly scary, if you're over 65. I've used much of what there carefully gathered, itself still as a young man. I would prefer again in that time, she was somewhat more leisurely than the modern, hectic activity. I felt right at home. wonderful and also the hidden humorous little things not to miss out. I felt completely well. congratulations to the builders and under tank this system.

  • The village Museum - or better 'museum village' - give insight into the past everyday life of craftsmen and farmers of the seewinkel. The collection holds some treasure and a visit takes time! It is so infinitely much to discover...

  • Terrific! A great Museum. The exhibition of professionally presented and designed with great love and attention to detail offers a fascinating insight into the past of a region steeped in history. She's so approachable as if you were at that time to visit. I had planned anyway, too little time.

  • I found it simply spectacular and I can recommend it to everyone. In particular, if one is interested in history, should make also a guided tour. Even if you don't stand on history, you should look at this Museum in Mönchhof. You think from the outside not how big it is. I myself was often with school and even then there, because new objects added. Excerpt from the website: "Folk culture pure", which gives it about 35 again erected buildings, all of which come from the Heath land. Here you can Museum guests in the houses enter, stay indoors, reminisce or work on just the atmosphere. The formerly small private collection of Josef Haubenwallner built out over the last 20 years to a large regional open air museum. It gives insight into the everyday village life and rural life in the Heideboden from around 1890 until the 1960s. Then the major socio economic changes were made, and the "Hoadbauern" searched for and found the connection to the "modern era". The village Museum is divided into three sections. The first is about the basics of securing livelihoods - of the grain construction up to the beet industry, in the second to the stocks for their own needs. The third part, the typical village with everything that was once so - anger and pond behind a small pond, of artisans, shops, Milchhaus, Grist Mill, and even increased slightly a church Guest House, school, municipal office, fire department, workshops on a hill and towering above all.

  • It certainly pays to come take a look here. It's an impossibly sophisticated and here you will find almost everything you can imagine from the village or urban environment.
