Liechtenstein Castle is a castle located near Maria Enzersdorf in Lower Austria bordering Vienna. It is located on the edge of the Wienerwald (Viennese Forest). The castle, originally built during the 12th century, was destroyed by the Ottomans in 1529 and 1683, and remained in ruins until 1884, when it was rebuilt.Liechtenstein ("bright stone") Castle is the origin of the name of the Liechtenstein family, the ruling house of the country of the same name, which owned the castle from at least 1140 until the 13th century and again from 1807 onwards.Today, the castle is mainly known for the Nestroy Theatre Festival held annually during the summer months. • The castle itself is not impressed, relatively small. Inside went (the price of admission did not meet expectations from the appearance). In front of the Castle-exhibition-sale of statues-crafts (landscape on a summer residence and in an apartment, if povezjote, of course). Around the pleasant, picturesque, air, again, nice, nice, but keep in mind that the Hill upside-down. Local massively run come.

  • Built in the first half of the 12th century at the end of the calendar mountain North slope as a fortress on the rock back, high medieval Romanesque and Summit Castle combines late modern Historicism and ancestral seat of the Princes of Liechtenstein. A work of art of Historicism, which successfully managed to integrate the surviving Romanesque buildings in the reconstruction.
