  • To see this castle you need a piece of detours, a ferme climb on foot do (what can be disappointing at + 30 ° c), but once at the top it is worth, spectacular views of half Carinthia. And this is really used by Disney Castle (inspiration for the castle of snow white). Once at the top, the children can have fun with trying capture the dozens of lizards on the walls and then an ice cream. Mom and dad enjoyed a weissenbier and a Kaiserschmarn!

  • Fascinating historical castle > > > > don't miss this site, its located in a typical Austrian Alpine Country side just about 25 km out of Klagenfurt. Its a great & long walk to the top only for fit pe...  more »
  • We wrote by email and ten days in advance to ask if it was necessary to book the tour in English (we had read the recommendations on the site). We were told to be quiet, it would have been enough to show up there. So we went out confident and we paid the ticket (the elevator was broken, we would have liked to use it but we still enjoyed the walk). Throughout the climb we haven't found one shred of caption in a language that is not German. Got to the top, we entered the Museum and again no explanation, at least in English. A guide though was explaining in German for very few people. We waited and finally asked if he spoke English, he replied "very little". Rather scornacchiati, we finally asked if we could have a guide who spoke, he said no. End of story and much bitterness about discrimination that could be avoided with little, given the widespread notice. Basically we paid the same ticket of whom had "complete".

  • Just 12 euro to get in with beautiful views all around. I was surprised that there was a restaurant on top that served beer and great good and it was cheap. Well needed after 800 m walking to get to the top.
  • I have been to this Castle 4 times and this coming week I will go again to show my son from Australia and partner for the first time. I really enjoy this but hope the elevator is fixed as I can no longer walk that far up hill. It has always worked in the past so hope it's ok .
  • Nice castle, we spent here a lot of very nice time. Beautiful view from castle and to castle. The elevator is not working yet, but it doesnt matter, věca use it is great wall through each gate. If you will be near, then visit it.
  • The castle is nice but there is not much to see inside.. and for that it's overpriced,12€ is way too much for what it offers.. although it's very preserved and the view up is very nice..
  • Elevator is broken. Be prepared to walk up. Beautiful views. Interesting architecture. There are some odd role play/time period photos of the family in the cellar area.
