Aussichtsturm Pyramidenkogel, Keutschach am See

(4.7/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web)
Overlooking the turquoise blue lakes, rolling green hills, and Alpine peaks in the distance stands Aussichtsturm Pyramidenkogel, an observation tower 847 m (2,779 ft) tall. The unusual structure originated in 1950, but later evolved to its current state, made of wood and steel. Hard to miss, the tower's corkscrew design appears a bit wobbly and is topped by three observation platforms at varying heights. Ascend by spiral staircase or glass elevator to any of the three platforms. The interior of the tower features a tube slide, so grab a potato sack and slide on down to the bottom. There, you'll find a full restaurant where you can refuel. Make Aussichtsturm Pyramidenkogel part of your personalized Keutschach am See itinerary using our Keutschach am See holiday planner.

  • We had compensated though not the best weather, but the prospect for everything. There are 2 ways to climb the Tower, it is the 441 1 steps walking 2. are the lift to the 10.Stockwerk the last two floors have to go but then walking. Stunning views, with North and South, as well as Declaration of panels on the railing. For the descent 3 ways even 4. in summer! 1. walking 2. lift 3. the slide in the slide goes up to the 8th floor, where you climb a seat cover and already one disappears into the tube. Those who wish can get here a photo from the ride at the box office. To be noted is the slide costs an extra charge and must at the entrance even with paid.

  • Every time we are in Carinthia, we drive to the Pyramidenkogel. The view is gigantic. The restaurant is also recommended.

  • There is a slide on the inside of the Pyramidenkogel. It is worth to spend the 7 Euro for a slide. Items in the giftshop are surprisingly cheap compared to other tourist locations. The staff is friendly, very polite and actually fun. If you are in a joking mood, they are not shy to join in and make you have a very enjoyable and fun time. The top platform is a bit windy, but the vista is worth all the effort. And if you are lazy, there is an elevator taking you to the third platform from the top.
  • For the people in good condition. Happens the elevator didn't work so was even more interesting to move ass up ☺
  • Wonderful place.. very interesting tower and the view up is unbelievable.. totally worth it!
  • Best thing I saw in Europe... unreal beauty. Can't belive I didn't read about it but only stumbled upon it as we were driving from Vienna to Venice.
