  • Plan your visit carefully as it is open only on Mondays since 4 PM. However, I found it more interesting ftom outside than inside. I am not sure whether it was worth the 5 €.  more »
  • The mighty castle in Kaprun is well preserved and within walking distance. Unfortunately she has very rarely open, so that one hardly comes into it

  • A must location when you in the area
  • The medieval castle was built in the 12th century. Has undergone serious destruction. In the mind of great historical and artistic value in 1984 the castle was acquired by the urban community of Kaprun. The reconstruction of the Castle. After the restoration, the castle became one of the most popular excursion objects of Kaprun. Reconstruction work has continued, but the castle is already extensively used for cultural and festive events, musical festivals. Unfortunately to get to the castle can only be once a week (usually in Monday at 16.00) when it carried out an organised excursion. Tour is conducted in two languages (two groups), German and English (your choice). Entrance fee, adults 9 euros for children up to 15 years-4 euro. Probably, this castle and loses another castles in Austria, but in Kaprun, Zell am see and nearby it only. And it is not necessary to go, but merely take a stroll after a day of skiing. In addition, as a result of careful reconstruction, he doesn't look like a new building, and fully preserves the historic perception of antiquity. Interesting restored interiors and furnishings.

  • Great castle that is perfectly used for events. The Festival is a dream, great accessible with strollers every year. The rooms are well maintained and also St. Patrick's celebrations and the like are in the medieval atmosphere really fun!
