Art Museum
Housed within an old monastery building, Tyrolean Museum of Popular Art serves as an extensive repository of a wealth of regional crafts, costumes, cultural artifacts, and more. Pay a visit to the museum, one of the most popular and well regarded of its kind on the continent, and explore its collection of items documenting life in the region of Tyrol. Wander the exhibits and displays covering centuries of local history and development; the museum focuses particularly on everyday items and traditional crafts. Take special note of the mixture of Germanic and Italian influences present in the museum's artwork and holdings, a feature stemming from the region's historical borders. • Excellent museum. You pay 11 euros for the ticket and has the right to go to 2 other museums in the city. Unfortunately I didn't have time to take advantage of this opportunity and ended up knowing only this, but it was very worthwhile. I visited many museums in Austria, in Vienna and Salzburg that showed what life was like at the imperial court. ESS is interesting because it shows what life was like the people at the same time, as were the houses, clothes, objects used. I loved having closed the Austria trip this way.
