Create an itinerary including Tyrolean Folk Art Museum
Housed within an old monastery building, Tyrolean Folk Art Museum serves as an extensive repository of a wealth of regional crafts, costumes, cultural artifacts, and more. Pay a visit to the museum, one of the most popular and well regarded of its kind on the continent, and explore its collection of items documenting life in the region of Tyrol. Wander the exhibits and displays covering centuries of local history and development; the museum focuses particularly on everyday items and traditional crafts. Take special note of the mixture of Germanic and Italian influences present in the museum's artwork and holdings, a feature stemming from the region's historical borders. Don't miss seeing the museum's rooms taken from Tyrolean farms and houses of the Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque eras, which have been carefully restored with decorations and wood paneling. • This was one of the highlights of my visit to Innsbruck. I love folk art and am so impressed with how people took seemingly ordinary items and made them beautiful. This museum did a great job...

  • Wonderful museum. Kids up to 19 years old can enter for free. It includes a wonderful church, a very interesting interactive historical introduction that kids and adults will certainly enjoy and the museum. Totally recommend
  • This museum was delightful! There were displays on traditional costumes, furniture, reproductions of 15th century parlors, and an amazing display of artifacts related to birth and death. Highly recommended. The subtle background soundtrack in the Uncertainty of Life rooms was great! Don't miss the Hofkirche or the fantastic multimedia rooms on the life of Maximilian. Seriously, just go. It's a great hour or two!
  • very incredible museum. i’m so happy they have so many things that show and not hidden somewhere in a deposit. I love folk art and it was such a joy to see so much of it in one museum. they have a very nice collection with a lot of descriptions. i’m kind of missing a book that you can buy about their collection or the different things in the collection in the book shop is kind of a shame. but otherwise a beautiful museum and totally worth the trip.
  • Beautiful place.Absolutely stuning. One of the most interesting museums to visit.will be interesting not only for parents but for parents with kids-mysterious church with Maximilian tomb, tyrolean every day life, way of life.I highly recommend it for visit
  • Very interesting and original place. Make sure to get the audio tour and listen to the description of the art pieces. Spend the time visiting all the floors of the museum as each one is exceptional. The church next to the museum is also amazing. The audio gives you more details which are very fascinating. Don’t miss this jewel of Innsbruck!
