  • The Jesuit church in the city centre of Salzburg is a beautiful church of the early Baroque. In contrast to many other often overloaded Baroque buildings, she exudes a tremendous peace. The effect is achieved through the white walls and ceilings facing the luxuriant Baroque impressively apart altars and pillars. The modern, black, reduced, strict altar from the year 2004 in the area of the dome, which today is used for divine services, fits very well in this sophisticated design of richness and simplicity. A sarcophagus with the relics of Saint Pirmin, the patron saint of Innsbruck, can be seen in one of the side chapels. 11 princes, including 6 Habsburgs are buried in the crypt of the Church. The front rooms of the crypt are used until today as the burial place of the members. I highly recommend a visit to the Jesuit church.
