Hungerburg Funicular, Innsbruck

#1 of 20 in Transportation in Austria
Tramway · Transportation
Experience a new way to climb a mountain with Hungerburg Funicular. Board a spacious gondola to travel through a tunnel and over a bridge across the Inn River. Reach the Hungerburg at 860 m (2,821 ft) above sea level. Architect Zaha Hadid designed all four stations on this line, which opened on December 1, 2007. Pay special attention to the Hungerburg station, which from afar resembles an amorphous ice formation glittering in the sun. The funicular's complex route sets technical standards. Go early to avoid the crowds. To visit Hungerburg Funicular and get the most from your holiday in Innsbruck, create itinerary details personal to you using our Innsbruck trip itinerary builder tool.
