  • There is young spiritual life in this old monastery 1133 - at the entrance, a photo of the recently occurred monk greets. According to the rule of St. Benedict, lives, prays, works, and here to read. The name "Cistercian" comes from the former monastery of Cîteaux in France. Worth seeing: the cloister, the monastery church with its Romanesque ship and Gothic choir and the splendid choir stalls - and much more, even to discover - best with a guided tour.

  • Our doors are open, even more our hearts! We visited the Latin Convention Exhibition in the Bernardikapelle at 9:30 on Sunday. Even if they do not understand the chant of the monks, they will be captured by mysticism and enchants. A service as they have not yet received it. Full devotion and awe, they leave the Abbey of Heiligenkreuz.

  • Very interesting tour at Mr. Gerald. We were wondering whether he's Church historians, whether his extensive knowledge - he could answer each question so comprehensively. Overall we would have liked but also insight into the daily life of the monks and more facilities (E.g., library, dormitory, a sleeping cell), but we understand that this also not disturbed in their daily work or gar ' performed ' want to be. Total absolutely recommended! Tip: take - necessarily ski underwear and thick jacket for the cold season is very nice damp in the walls, and it is not heated.

  • I love to go there and just say a prayer at the entrance of the church the cross hanging to the right, and light a candle. the quire singers are great and you can get a cd, if you are a tourist just ask for a guided tour the restaurant has lovely food and remember the pope visited here some years ago and there is a small shop and you can study theology if you like :)
  • I pray with! For priests! What I'm watching is just very instructive! God help you forever. He bless and protect you. L.G.

  • Second oldest still existing Cistercian Abbey of the world - alive as ever and ever! Here the monastic tradition is not cultivated, but actually lived with heart and soul: choral prayer and worship in its most beautiful form with draught - liturgy at its finest!
