  • One of the main tourist course of Hallstatt salt mine. It is also very cold in mid-summer, when you can go barefoot obscure shoe is recommended. Can ride between slides is also interesting.

  • The Universal Studios of salt mines! We were so impressed with how fun this tour was, from the underground slides to the mine train on the way out. They even sell souvenir photos of you on the slide with your speed (km/h) going down the slide. Presentations/videos on the tour cover the geological formation of the salt deposits, archeological discoveries, and the history of the mine and village. Informative and very fun. Plus, they give you an adorable mini-salt canister after the tour.
  • If you want to go to the Austrian version of Space Mountain, you are in the right place. The price is the highest of the three, (€30 p/p)and it looks way too modern. For example, Hallein looks en feels like an old mine. This feels more like a skylift or a rollercoaster in the main entrance. We didn't go into the mine, because of the pricing, so no idea how it looks inside.
  • It is better than no salt mine tour, but there are other in the area that I enjoyed much more inside. This one requires either a funicular or a long hike. Once you get to the top there is still a pretty long, steep walk to the tunnel entrance. Our tour guide was seemed very bored and didn't seem like he thought it was a very fun place. I would recommend going to one of the other salt mine tours, even run by the same company they just seem better.
  • The tour in the mine was great. It was a fantastic experience. I'd recommend not getting the train and instead hiking up the hill. It's an hours walk but you see things like the imperial mine entrance you'd never see otherwise. Also the view is amazing.
  • We were invited by the archaeologists running the excavations on the salt mines. We followed the main touristic path which seemed very entertaining even for kids. The multimedia shows are just what you expect from a display cave. The galleries continue into the research area which is spectacular.
