Rent an electric boat at Lake Hallstatt Explorer and explore the lakes in this World Heritage Site. You can embark on the adventure on your own, or hire a boat driver to show you natural beauties. The small Alpine village with picturesque natural scenery makes a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the fresh air. Have a meal on site in a local restaurant overlooking the lake and mountains. Common storms and high waves can present a danger when on the lake. Pay attention to beacons, located on the north and south of the lake, warning about inclement weather. • By chance spotted the boat hire sign, borrowed one electric boats in the early morning. With a great answer. Hallstatt-spectacular views. Point taken look good in the picture, is noisy early in the morning in the rented a boat for an hour at the Lake staff. It is recommended. Early in the morning if you want to use on your own.

  • We hired a motorised boat to go out on the lake. They have paddle boats in the form of swans but they only have two & they were being used. We could have waited but chose the motor boat instead. So be...  more »

  • I visited in the month of september 2017, it was crowded mostly asian tourist. Last train from here somewhere around 6pm after that has to depend only on bus services. Bit difficult to reach here as bus/train route options r not well planned.. Place is beautiful as its seen in pictures. Once u get down from ferry towards right hand side, need to walk for 500mts there is the photo-op point, that is the same spot where hallstatts postcard perfect pictures r taken which one can see in websites where the lake and church can be seen. Do take your picture there its a nice spot but morning not possible as sun will be dictly opposite better to go evening so sun will be behind.
  • Renting one of these boats was great fun for my teenager and I on a really hot June day. They are super easy to maneuver with only two speeds, "stop" and "go slow". You don't need to have any knowledge of boating to do this. It's a great way to get beautiful pictures of Hallstatt!
  • Wonderful place, very fairytale like. Buut there's a downside: it's absolutely PACKED with tourists, especially Asians. Went there on a rainy day, and the streets were swarming. I don't want to imagine what it would be like on a sunny day. All.in all, beautiful, but consider going in the off-season.
  • We visited here in December 2016. The residents of Lake Hallstatt was having their once a year Christmas Market that day. It was so much fun.. We had Gluewhein, shopped and listened to Christmas carols. I will never forget our wonderful experience. I hope to visit again one day.
  • Walking along the lake during mid of February on a sunny day is a very good experience there. Nice scene, fresh cool air with snow, lake and mountain. Few souvenir shops with nice craft but not cheap price. Better come here after Apr/01 for more activities in this small but very nice town in Austria.
