Hallstatt Skywalk "Welterbeblick", Hallstatt

Hallstatt Skywalk "Welterbeblick" offers a bird's-eye view over an alpine valley that was home to prehistoric miners during the early Iron Age. The platform hovers 360 m (1,181 ft) above the ground, protruding 12 m (39 ft) from the mountainside into the abyss. Try to go on a clear day, but not in the middle of the day when the sun is almost blinding. The walk to the top is quite challenging, so it's best to take the cable car up to the viewing platform and then walk back down. Prepare for the crowds. • After taking the salt mines trip down the hill, just to come to this observation deck, the last time I was here, I didn't know it was there, so this visit was amazing, and there was an extended platform for taking pictures, and the background was a great view of the invincible scenery.

  • This beautiful landmark is located above HallStatt with a gorgeous view over the lake and mountains which surround the area. It can be reached either by cable car [16Euro round trip\pp] or with a 60 m...  more »
  • It's a platform with a view of a lake. Not even an impressive lake. Or an impressive platform. The cost of the cable car up far outweighs any views you get.. much better vantage points in the country  more »

  • Fantastic views of Lake Hallstatt from here. Just a short, fast lift ride up. We paid 9E each to go up and walked down, enjoying more scenery. Avoid the cappuccino at the restaurant, it the most expensive baby chino style we've ever had, one sip and it was gone along with 3.6E
  • One of the most beautiful places i ever visited. Had a wonderful time there missed some places will definitely visit again and this place is strongly recommended. My personal opinion is that if you are visiting hallstatt for a single day then don't visit inside the salt mine because it will take at least 2hours of your precious time and meanwhile you'll miss mother nature, I'll recommend it you really interested in visiting salt mine watch YouTube first then decide 👍
  • It was an amazing surprise. The ride on the funicular was particularly good as the surrounding vista opened up. There is a nice little restaurant right at the top. Tourists travelinto Salzburg should not miss out on this.
  • Amazing view from the top on Hallstatt. If the weather is nice you can really take a bunch of photos which are beautiful. Cable car is priced around 9 euros (depends) but the view is really worth it.
  • The skywalk is steep and fast. The view on top is magnificent (depends a lot on weather). Exploring the track to the deep mountain, it is also an attractive activity.
